Located in Costa Brava, Spain, Ortensia Estate is a prestigious Baroque horse facility. Once a small facility housed at Sand Creek Stables in North Carolina, we have greatly expanded to since opening at our own property. Our herd includes some of the finest Andalusians, Friesians, Georgian Grande and Gypsy Vanners, as well as a small string of Arabian endurance racers. We mainly specialize in dressage and driving, and train some of the finest horses in the area. We are known worldwide for our gentle, natural training methods, and calm, willing horses. Come in and see all of what Ortensia has to offer. You never know, we may be the home of your next champion!
 
Recently at Ortensia Estate...
November 20, 2010: We would like to welcome some new faces to our barn, including Viridiana, Arellano, and our very first steeplechaser, She's Not Kidding. We have finally delved into the racing world, and are extremely proud to have such amazing horses in our stables. We received She's Not Kidding, or Kitten, as we like to call her, from the RSC auction for an amazing price! She adds some life to the yard, and certainly won't be our last chaser!
September 8, 2010: Ortensia Estate is now a private barn! In celebration, be on the lookout for a super awesome all discipline english show in the near future! We'd also like to welcome the following horses to our herd: Rezo IV, Marisol and Grindelwald.
August 30, 2010: The staff around Ortensia is quickly getting ready for the event of the summer here at Ortensia tomorrow night. With a whole day of shows crammed into one evening, it's sure to get busy around here. Even crazier yet, the RBIHA Trial Show is being held here the very next day, so we're busy putting up temporary stalls so the Baroque horses can stay overnight in comfort for the next morning. We plan to start that show later on in the day, so the horses have a bit of time to rest and relax before going at it again. We look forward to seeing all of you out at Ortensia!
June 19, 2010: We'd like to welcome some new additions to our stable, all full siblings out of Andalusian dressage prodigies Hipparchos and Estrella De Luz. Soleil Basilio, Soliel Hierro, Soleil Rocinante and Soleil Isandro are four stunning Andalusians that we are more than proud to have as new members of our dressage team. We are quite busy getting ready for our grand opening show on the 22nd. Our trainers are hard at work with the horses, making sure they're all ready to perform their best, and ensure they have a good two day break before the show. There are going to be some amazing prizes given out from some of Riata's finest businesses, including Pioneer Nutrition and Pens In Motion. We hope to see everyone out here looking their best for a wonderful day of dressage and driving fun!
